ABOUT THE ROLE
We seek a Project Manager that will immediately contribute to our growing UAE and regional ESG practice, and specifically to the ESG reporting division which is tasked with developing ESG reports according to the most widely used global sustainability reporting standards, and work to continuously exceed clients’ expectations and help them reach their ESG objectives and become sustainability leaders.
In this role, you will join our ESG team to deliver on multiple ESG reporting projects by ensuring that our clients are able to publish their reports in accordance with regulatory requirements or voluntary guidance. You will be managing a team with a proven ESG reporting track record and will be responsible for managing the full reporting process of multiple reporting projects at once. This will require strong project management skills and as well as deep knowledge in ESG reporting specifically in accordance with the GRI standards.
REQUIREMENTS
This role requires you to have deep knowledge about the ESG reporting landscape and to have developed multiple ESG reports using the GRI standards amongst other standards. In addition, you will need to have experience in:
- Advising clients on their ESG reporting strategy, including recommending appropriate ESG reporting standards and/or frameworks they should use (in the absence of local regulatory reporting guidance or in addition to it)
- Conducting a thorough stakeholder engagement and materiality assessment exercise
- Managing a stakeholder engagement process along with developing ESG surveys, questionnaires, and leading engagement discussions with clients’ key stakeholders
- Demonstrating advanced analytical skills to manage, review, filter, and evaluate large datasets, and performing computations in alignment with the requirements of the standards
- Ability to explain and lead discussions with clients on environmental metrics, including GHG emissions, energy, waste, water and other indicators.
- Proficiency in understanding and interpreting GHG emissions data is key
- Conducting meetings with various stakeholders to collect necessary qualitative information
- Conducting ESG reporting awareness sessions and workshops
- Having an understanding about the role of digitization in gathering, managing, and monitoring ESG data
- Having a thorough understanding about the GRI Standards, IIRF, SASB, and the ISSB’s two proposed standards
- Having a good understanding about building a TCFD report
- Having a thorough understanding about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and the ability to align corporate business models with those SDGs that are material to it
- Being familiar with the leading sustainability and ESG global initiatives/organizations/alliances such as the United Nations Global Compact, the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), the Greenhouse Gas Protocol
You will be working in a professional and collaborative environment with ESG Consultants, Project Managers & Directors, and our UAE & regional practice lead to deliver best-in-class ESG reports, to help clients assess their material topics, manage their data collection requirements and provide support throughout the entire process.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Minimum two to three years of relevant experience in developing ESG reports in accordance with the various main global reporting standards.
- Knowledge of, and passion for the ESG space
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to be adaptable, flexible and deal with ambiguity positively
- Analytical, creative thinking, assertive, motivated, and ability to perform under tight deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (strong oral and written communication skills in Arabic is a plus)
- Ability to work collaboratively and to make an immediate contribution
- Strong project and time management skills, and the capacity to develop multiple ESG reports within tight deadlines
- Ability to engage with and simultaneously manage a diverse range of stakeholders
- Having a strong command of the revised GRI Standards, being a GRI certified professional is a plus
- Having a good understanding about the International Integrated Reporting Framework, being an IIRF certified professional is a plus
