We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Part Time “Accountant & Tax Advisor “ to join our growing Tax and Compliance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the company's tax reporting, compliance, and strategic tax planning efforts. This position requires a solid understanding of U.S. tax laws and regulations, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate compliance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO :
• Prepare and file Federal and State tax returns, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax.
• Manage the withholding tax compliance process for both U.S. and international payments, including filing forms such as 1042, 1042-S, and other international withholding forms.
• File Form 8802 for the Certificate of Residence.
• Assist with international tax compliance for companies with global operations, including managing Form 5471 (Information Return of U.S. Persons With Respect to Certain Foreign Corporations).
• Help prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions, ensuring proper documentation and supporting workpapers.
• Compute current tax expenses and deferred tax liabilities/assets.
• Reconcile tax-related balances in the general ledger and ensure accurate accrual of tax-related expenses.
• Register with the Secretary of State for various states and file annual returns as required.
• Draft and submit responses to notices and correspondences from authorities, including the IRS.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and changes to ensure compliance with federal, and state tax requirements.
• Ensure proper documentation of all tax compliance processes.
• Provide support for internal and external audits, including tax audits. Collaborate with other departments (accounting, finance) to support tax-related matters and ensure tax compliance.
• Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders related to tax matters.
YOU WILL HAVE :
• B. Com or M. Com degree, with advanced certifications (e.g., CPA, MST), and 3 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong understanding of U.S. tax laws (Internal Revenue Code), tax regulations, tax provisions (ASC 740), and U.S. tax compliance.
• Experience in managing multi-state tax filings in various jurisdictions.
• Previous experience in international taxation is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant financial tools.
• SAP knowledge is a plus.
